About Scentlabel
Scentlabel is a free web calculator for small cosmetic makers that works out which EU and Canada fragrance allergens must go on the label. Paste the allergen sheet your supplier sends, set the fragrance load, and it writes the ingredient list with every number's maths shown.
Skip the maths: paste your sheet into the calculator.
Method
- Each allergen in the product = its % on the sheet × the fragrance load % ÷ 100, added up across all oils (and any ingredient that is itself an allergen).
- It goes on the label when that total is strictly over 0.001% (leave-on) or 0.01% (rinse-off).
- The ingredient list is sorted by %, highest first, with declared allergens in their place.
- Percentages are compared exactly, so rounding never flips a result. Each one shows its working.
Data
- The 81 entries of Annex III of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2023/1545, checked on 2026-10-08.
- Every entry was checked one by one: 61 against Regulation (EU) 2023/1545, the other 20 (the older entries it does not repeat) against CosIng.
- Canada dates from Health Canada's labelling guide, checked on 2026-10-09.

Not a safety assessment
Scentlabel does the label maths. It is not a safety assessment; your safety assessor signs off the product.
